About Linz in Austria
Located on the Danube River west of Vienna ,
Linz is Austria's third largest city and the capital of Upper Austria.
It is a major trade port on the Danube River and
surrounding areas.
It is also an important commercial and industrial center of Austria. Linz was also the home to Anton Bruckner who was one of Austria's most famous composers.
The city of Linz has many historic buildings of all ages. The city has numerous historic architecture, such as the Romanesque Church of St. Martin, the baroque old cathedral, the city hall, the baroque bishop's palace and the new neo-Gothic cathedral.
Landhaus is one of the most important historic buildings in Linz. The Alter Dom is the hugest church in baroque style in the city. Saint Martins church is the oldest church in Austria. The flea market in the center of Linz has become a major attraction for tourists. Other attractions include
Linzer Torte, the Old Town Quarter, Postlingbergand Linz Castle, as well as Nordico Museum.
