About Nagoya in Japan
Located east of Kyoto, at the head of Ise Bay, Nagoya is Japan's fourth largest city, with a population of more than 2.1 million people. It is a center of industry, trade, transportation, education and culture of Japan. Nagoya Imperial Univsity is one of the most famous university in the world. TOYOTA, which is the world-famous motor company. The city of Nagoya has a very mild climate throughout the year.
Nagoya is a beautiful and lively city, full of numerous historical buildings and sites. As a symbol of Nagoya, the Nagoya Castle is a must-see, which is dotted with two golden imaginary tiger-headed fishs ornaments on the roof. The Atsuta Shrine and the Ise Shrine are the oldest and most highly sacred Shinto shrines in Japan.
The Tokugawa Art Museum is considered a priceless gem because it has a collection of family heirlooms. Built in 1692, the Atsuta houses the sacred imperial sword and the Higashi Honganji. Museum Meiji Mura features more than 65 buildings and architecture dating from the Meiji Period (1868-1912).
The Toyota Automobile Museum displays the history of automobile development fom the late 19th century when the gasoline automobile was invented. Other attractions include Atsuta -Jingu Shrine, Narumi Shibori Hall, the Tokaido Shinkansen bullet train and Higashiyama Park.
