About Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia

Located along the southwest coast of Malay Peninsula, Kuala Lumpur is the capital and largest city of Malaysia. In Malaysia, the city is commonly known as KL. It is now a political, commercial, industrial, cultural and social center and transportation hub of the country. It has a population of about 1.5 million, two thirds of which are Chinese. Kuala Lumpur enjoys a tropical climate, with sunny and warm weather most of time each year.

The National Museum houses a variety of collection such as artefacts and paintings gathered from all over the country. The Kuala Lumpur Philharmonic Hall holds regular concerts, chamber concerts and traditional cultural performances. Lake Gardens now houses a Deer Park, Butterfly Park, Insect Museum, Planetarium, Orchid Garden, Hibiscus Garden and South-East Asia's largest Bird Park. The National Park is one of the oldest and most diverse rainforests in the world. Other tourist attraction include Parliament House, National Zoo and Aquarium, Kuala Lumpur Railway Station, National Mosque and Berjaya Times Square. Kuala Lumpur is host city for Malaysia International Gourmet Festival.
