About Rotterdam in Netherlands
Located by the side of the Nieuwe Maas river in the western Netherlands, Rotterdam is the second largest city in the country, after Amsterdam. Its harbour is the largest and busiest seaport in Europe. Nowadays, it is an important center of trade, transport, industry, culture and education.
It has a population of around 600,000 people. The climate of Rotterdam is varied but temperate, with mild winters and cool summers.
Rotterdam has a variety of attractions to offer visitors. The Boijmans-van Beuningen Museum has a fine collection of medieval European art and modern art. The Euromast is a 185 metres high tower, on top of which tourists can get a panoramic view over the whole of Rotterdam.
Built in 1996, The Erasmus Bridge is a 3-kilometre-long cable stayed bridge connecting the north with south of Rotterdam. The Luxor Theatres is housed in a modern building, where concerts, operas, operettas and dance are held. Rotterdam Zoo one of the most popular attractions in the city. You can also travel around the city by taking harbour cruise. Other attractions include the Maritiem Museum, the museum of Scheepswerf 'De Delft', Modern residential architecture, and so on.
