Situated on the Han River near the centre of the Korean peninsula, Seoul is the capital and the largest city of South Korea. Seoul is the political, economic, cultural, and educational center of South Korea. Seoulb has a temperate and continental climate. Seoul is one of the world's most populous cities, with a population of 10 million people. Seoul is host city of the 1988 Olympic Games and the 2002 World Cup.
Seoul is a beautiful city rich in culture heritage and tourist attractions. Located in the center of Seoul, Namsan Park is home to many species of trees, plants and wild animals. Built on the top of Mount Namsan in 1975, Seoul Tower is one of the most magnificent landmarks of South Korea. You can get a beautiful panoramic view of the whole city on top of the tower. Also known as the Palace of Shining Happiness, Gyeongbokgung Palace was once the home of the first royal family of the Choson Dynasty. Other grand palaces built in the Joseon Dynasty are Gyeonghuigung Palace, Deoksugung Palace, Changgyeonggung Palace, and Changdeokgung Palace. Now it is converted to the National Museum of Korea, which
houses more than 1million historic items witnessing the history of the country. The Nsmdsnkol Korean Folk Village is an open air folk museum for the visitors to learn traditional Korean culture. The National Museum of Contemporary Art houses various forms of contemporary works from Korea and Internation. Other attractions include War Memorial, Achasanseong Fortress, Jongmyo Shrine, Jogyesa Temple, Lotte World and Seoul Arts Center.
