About Valencia in Spain
Located on Spain's eastern Mediterranean coast, Valencia is the third largest city of the country, with a population of about 790,000 people.
Its port is one of the busiest seaport along the Mediterranean. It is also an important commercial and industrial center of Spain. Valencia has a Mediterranean climate, with warm, dry summers and moderate winters. Las Falla, which is held from March 12th to March 19th, is Valencia's most famous festival.
Valencia is a very picturesque city full of art and history, as well as sights. Built during the 13th and 15th century, the Cathedral of Valencia contains a blend of styles reflecting aspects of Romanesque, Gothic and Baroque architecture. Bulfight Art Museum is the first museum which is devoted to bullfighting in the world. The Plaza de la Virgen houses the Basilica of the Virgin and the Turia fountain. The Late Gothic silk exchange is a World Heritage Site. The Central Market is one of the largest in Europe. The City of Arts and Sciences contains Hemispheric, which house a planetarium and a theater. L’Oceanografic is Europe’s largest marine park housing lagoons, a dolphinarium, large aquaria and so on. Botanic Gardens contains more than 40,000 plants. Other tourist attractions include Town Hall, Prince Felipe Museum of the Sciences, El Museo de Bellas Artas de Valencia, and Valencian Institute of Modern Art.
