About Zurich in Switzerland
Situated at the northern end of the Lake of Zurich, Zurich is Switzerland's largest city in, with a population of about 350,000. It is an important commercial and financial center of Switzerland. It has Switzerland's busiest airport. Under the influence of the Gulf Stream and the Eastern European Continental climate, Zurich has a relatively mild weather.
Zurich boasts the beautiful Zurich Lake, a historical old city, the Fraumuenster Church, interesting museums. The twin towers of Grossmunster which dominate the skyline of Zurich is the most famous symbol in Zurich. The Fraumunster was first church built before 874. St.Peter's Church is Zurich’s oldest parish church dating from the early 13th century. Kunsthaus Zurich houses one of the largest collections in Classic Modern Art in the world. The Opera House is late-baroque style building. Other tourist attractions include the Altstadt, Johann Jacobs Museum, Swiss National Museum and the Rapperswil Castle.
